A REASON TO THINK...

My mom is a wonderful cook. So we often have family get-togethers and not-so-formal parties. Once my uncle’s family was invited. They are a sweet couple with two naughty kids. Mom and aunt were in the kitchen- laughing and talking , as happy as two sisters-in-law could be. Meanwhile, the hot pan containing oil got imbalanced and in the process to prevent it from spilling, Mom almost deep-fried her fingers. Somehow all was set right in a moment or so, but the damage had already been done. I got mom’s first-aid done and almost rebuked her for being so careless.
Mom dipped her fingers in an ice-pack and aunt took over the cooking. After a while, my cousin, aged about 6, came to mom and said, with tears in his eyes, ”Oh my God! How did burn your finger? This little one, isn’t?” These words made Mom think, ”My own children don’t feel for me like this, while this little boy, my nephew is crying for me.”The child added,”Now who will cook the chicken ?”Mom said,”Why?Your Mom will.”He said,”Awww..” and went off to play. The child was not crying because my mom was in pain,he was in tears because he wouldn’t get to eat my mom-made food. This was a petty matter for me then.Today, this particular incident has made me pensive and contemplating.
Many of us build new relationships in life. In the course of it, we may be attracted to people due to their special qualities- may be they have some material things which we have longed to possess. We forge our attraction as true love and go ahead with it. When we see that particular material (worldly) attribute missing in our chosen person, we find our love waning. Our faith in relationship stems out of the wealth, looks and success the person owns. And its ultimate truth that all these are not forever.
What matters is pure unconditional love and attachment in a relationship.

[I hope I didn’t bore my readers this time. I tried to write a short story but now I’ve three of them incomplete. I don’t know why I’ve become so un-creative.I want my readers to give me their opinion on this post.]

A big thank-you to Phoenix and little Priya Joyce (PJ) for THE BUTTERFLY AWARD.

That's very true Anwesa! Because we feel a bond with someone because they possess something, and once they no longer possess that, whoosh..disappeared from our memory! It's a materialistic world.

Perhaps, that's the beauty of Blogsville. We don't know each other personally, but words are what keeps us connected, and words is all we have. So, in a way it's that unconditional love, that you talk about, that is the essence of Blogsville na? Beautiful. :)

Thats good post Anwesa :)

Relationships which are blood ones are only the ones to be cherieshed...rest all depend on the "context", once the context wanes, so do the relationships.....

my experience.....

Life is itself a choice and so does relationship. Not everyone can bond easily with others and people who can cherish it.
Anwesa said…
@sam,
i appreciate ur views, but sometimes blood relationships can b fake too.i'v seen ppl without any biological relationship 2 b best chums too.it all depends on intent of relationship,d amt of luv, faith n understandin 1 puts into it. keep visiting..

awww...such a touching incident...

its sad that we always look at the material things while finding love in someone, its only later when we know what real love is that we realise how little these things matter in true love.
:)
alok said…
Hehehe! bache akhir bache hein, maan ke sache, itna sochna nahi hai.

'Love' or ‘unconditional love’ or 'true love' or …. ‘xyz love’, sometime I wonder do we really need to add a pre-fix there ? but nevertheless I guess everyone of us like to see some changes that would keep the things same. And now I don’t know what I am talking about 'change for same???' :)

P.S : I hope, now your mom is doing well.
alok said…
Oh! I missed, “The condition is there should not be a condition, i.e. unconditional???”
Lena said…
i would say dear unconditional loveis something which doesnt depend on what the other person possess. It is rather the ability to love the other person without asking anything in return, not to expect things, gestures, words, care, but to do it yourself because to love someone is much above being loved in unconditional love :)
--xh-- said…
true,, many times, we just see our friends for the special qualities they have - not for what they are...

Hey cheery chatty blogger,
the first sentence itself made me hungry. I always like good cooks :)
Kitchen accident? Yup! I myself have got such accidents, most of them 'coz of carelessness, though only a few times, I went into kitchen. So, you could imagine the probability of accident if I go to kitchen?
And about unconditional love? you are correct. well, those kind of love are rare now. People always look for someone they like, then try to love them, some just pretend to love, some lose patience pretty early and give up. If we have someone who can love us unconditionally what else do we need, eh?.
BTW, all of my comments are pretty late, LOL, Sorry. I've commented on all the posts.. do check it out.

Coming to the talk about relationships, I guess every relation loses its charm after some time.
and by the time you think you should work on a relation, you are not sure what should be the action plan :D

ILLUSIONS OF REALITY...

The more you point out my mistakes, The more you are drawn towards me. The more you try to hurt me, The more you bleed in your heart. The more you run away from me, The more my memories haunt you. The more you want to forget me, The more you are reminded of my presence. The more you want to chase me away, The closer I come to you. The more you hate me, The more you end up loving me. The more you call me an “illusion” The more I dawn as the reality of your life….

CONFESSION OF A WOMAN...

When I'm born,I'm jeered at.When I'm a child,I'm made to believe that my reason for existence is somebody else. While I'm growing up,I'm discouraged to question. My brain and heart are numbed.I cannot die too, since it will bring infamity to my family.People would say,"At this age, what could have forced her to terminate herself ? She failed to materialize her fantasy.Such bad morals." I fast for the well-being of my father and brothers. When I outgrow my frocks,I'm let off to another household. There, I work for others, without pay.I have children but they treat me like a door-mat.Here too,I fast for my husband's and childrens' long, peaceful life. When the man of the house, who happens to be my "husband" dies,I shed a part of my soul.I have no right to live then,I just breathe and sit in a corner.Rest of my life is spent in praying-for death. They say, "Woman needs a man.In childhood, its father. In youth, its husband and in old age,i...
