SCHOOL DAYS

How badly I miss my school days sometimes ! Life was so cheerful, not so 'chilled out' (as they say in college). One of our teachers once remarked(we were in 1oth then)-You are all princes and princesses, headed by your Principal (like "Rajyapal" means Governor,"Principal" means the 'head of princely blood').We were really pampered a lot at school. In colleges, its quite tough to establish a rapport with faculty members, taking into account the huge number of students. Its quite impersonal. My school,Montfort School,Dhenkanal(Orissa) is located in pristine surroundings. The hills, the trees I miss them all.On a whole, the ambience was perfect.Delightful.
I was always on the move.If there was a quiz competition somewhere,I was surely going. All essay and elocution competions beckoned me.Even I took part in singing competition and often came home with prizes.Lovely life it was ! I did what I liked,I do so even now, but, you know...I haven't lost the spark of life, but somewhere deep within, something is amiss..
Driving down memory lane, I recollect my teachers and friends. They were a real assortment. Our Physics teacher's pick-up line ,"Do you clear?" still rings a bell.Woooow-what a laugh I had on hearing this...
I always muttered-When will school end?No getting up in the morning,no hassles.Today I long to go back to school.I really don't miss people-I do miss the innocence, the bubbling laughter. They say life goes a full circle-may be I'll go back to school-the school of life and living. My college isn't bad either, but Montfort was my home, err, second home.
I'm feeling short of words now.
Many people long for what they have lost, may be I'm one of them.

@To all my readers,
I was quite nostalgic while writing this post. So,it may sound boring at times. But do tell me if it was a boring read.Be frank.

Its definitely not boring
It reminded me of my own school days.
My school was not in a scenic place (far from nature : it was on a main road full of horrible vehicular traffic and smoke)
But the gr8 relationship we had with our teachers, who were so concerned abt us, well, I miss that.
sigh.

It was not at all boring dear!It took me back to my school days :)

And once you are out of college, those times will be missed as badly, trust me.So enjoy these golden days, even if they are not as princess-like as the school ones!

The best part of memory is that they are the only things in life that won’t change when everything else…
Your post once again remind me that memory of school days is special in many ways. No doubt, school days are the foundation for starting this journey of life and for most of us it’s a joy ride looking back with the time. We have travelled so far but yet there unknown destinations to cover and memories are like fuel some times we get lot of energy from it to move on …

wow!! Superb post, Ever one love their school days, there is no time as special as school days or campus life. What gone is gone, it won't come back. All we have is the sweetest memories we spent with our friends. "N back in school days, friendship was made without any reason, now it all comes with a cost, everyone looks for status to keep a friendship, what a change? :)
That's why kids are the best!
Anwesa said…
@aneesh,
vry tru,der r certain boundaries to frndship wen ur in a corporate set-up or even colleges!that buries the kid within..only we can cherish dose memories of pure,
unadulterated innocence!

Its so not boring.Reading through the lines made my memories of Montfort come alive.I miss the
"Do you clear"...If I am not wrong it was Mrs Jyotsna. I do remember vividly how Mrs Panda used to say "Next Point " when she dictates bio notes during lessons..When i recollect my memories of Montfort some part of it cracks me up and some make me sad coz i always long to meet the people with whom i spent the first 10 years of schooling life ....friends and teachers..
Good job with the blog Anwesa

YOu studied in Monfort, dhenkanal ?! I have been there, and whatta lovely campus it is !!!!!

We'd gone there around monsoon time, like some 12 yrs back...it a very enchanting aura about it. Love at first sight it was !!

I an now totally understand how you feel. And no, the post wasnt boring at all....nostalgia dwells in us no matter where we are or where we go...

Hi anwesa,

The post is definitely nostalgic !!
One thing i felt is those days, no matter what we do now, cant be experienced again.,. I assume its a part of our life.,. And school days will always occupy a special place in our hearts to come.,. The lunch breaks, the games period, competitions all strike some chord !!

Well, to quote about a teacher from my school days, we had a Sir who used to say "Lets me explain to you briefly", then he went on to explain the whole concept for 20 mins.,. We were afraid of him that time, that nobody ventured to go and tell him that briefly meant "Precise and Short". Now loooking back, those moments bring a smile :)

Good Nostalgic Post :)

Hi Anwesa

It was not at all boring...trust me...

I simply loved it...you voiced something that each one of us goes thru...

Skool really is a place where everyone knows you, loves you and pampers you...One tend to get lost in the crowd in colleges and professional life...

I am a hindi movie buff and this reminds me of Rang De Basanti, something that DJ told Gulabo in a drunken state...he says, "Duniya mein mere jaisey kitney DJ pis jaatey hain".

Indeed itz true,we tend to lose something sumwhere down the line...

I so very miss my skool too...but then I cling to the happy moments I spent there and it makes me smile...

:)

Keep blogging..
Take Care

ILLUSIONS OF REALITY...

The more you point out my mistakes, The more you are drawn towards me. The more you try to hurt me, The more you bleed in your heart. The more you run away from me, The more my memories haunt you. The more you call me an “illusion” The more I dawn as the reality of your life….

CONFESSION OF A WOMAN...

When I'm born,I'm jeered at.When I'm a child,I'm made to believe that my reason for existence is somebody else. While I'm growing up,I'm discouraged to question. My brain and heart are numbed.I cannot die too, since it will bring infamity to my family.People would say,"At this age, what could have forced her to terminate herself ? She failed to materialize her fantasy.Such bad morals." I fast for the well-being of my father and brothers. When I outgrow my frocks,I'm let off to another household. There, I work for others, without pay.I have children but they treat me like a door-mat.Here too,I fast for my husband's and childrens' long, peaceful life. When the man of the house, who happens to be my "husband" dies,I shed a part of my soul.I have no right to live then,I just breathe and sit in a corner.Rest of my life is spent in praying-for death. They say, "Woman needs a man.In childhood, its father. In youth, its husband and in old age,i...
