SOMETHING REALLY DISGUSTING....

I was in a jolly mood till this morning.My injury is healing and my fever has gone down.I haven't been to college since ten days.To all my friends:Fever gripped me on Wednesday and I had a really long rest on bed.When I opened the day's newspaper,I was horrified to read the words "Bandh tomorrow".The reason-a religious head was shot dead in Kandhmal(Orissa), a Maoist-affected district by unidentified assailants.There were 5 dead in all,including a child.Though the authorities have labled it as a "handiwork of terror",the possibility of it being a communal clash cannot be ruled out.In fact,Kandhmal hit the national news headlines during Christmas last year due to riots on basis of religion.
The word "bandh" has put me in a jittery now.The trail to college,the smoke bellowing from burnt tyres ,the roads,the people on the way-all these traumatize me now.
What is the purpose of a bandh,I wonder ...People preventing others-students,workers from doing their work by sheer brute force.What national interest does it serve?If they really want to protest against the injustice meted out,they must attract the attention of policy-makers .
Victimising the common man is definitely not the answer.There has been four road-blockades in the last fortnight on NH-5.I'm just sick of the
whole system of protesting by harming national interests. God knows if we'll be able to attend classes tomorrow without any hassles.I had planned to write a real funny post today,but alas !If only things were better !

I remember when I was in Jamshedpur in 3rd grade,we would have holidays every now and then thanks to bandhs.As a kid I was happy to have surprise holidays but only later I realized how sick some people can get and terrorize others,just to satisfy their ego.

Good that your knee is better!

@To all my readers,
Riots have broken out in Kandhmal district.Of all places in the world,Orissa too fell a victim to communalism..Its very painful..

Well there is nothing wrong with a bandh ... just that it was supposed to be something the masses opted for out of their own free wil.. though in todays scenario .. its like the way you put it .. getting bullied into shutting things down ..

Please take care...I understand what it feels like witnessing all this.

I have always voiced similar emotions thru my blog...

I myself wonder why the common man has to pay for all this...

Violence will lead us nowhere... :(

hey... i m kind of itchy to advice.
i luved the old look of the blog. the new one is good - but i dunno why the old one was better. the ad space is too prominent. spoils aesthetics.cant u just blend it or something... nice that u are committed to make sponsors ads visible - but plzz didi not at the expense of blog looks :(
Anwesa said…
@abhishek sim,
thanx 4 de suggestion.The old look was simple,this is a bit loud-abt the ad,i'll see that it is placed well.I had a "black and gold " combination in mind while doing it.

MRS DESPATCHER(PART II)

CONTINUED FROM PREVIOUS POST… Eighteen months later…. I was beginning to like my work. It was a challenge sometimes. I had learnt to go beyond boundaries. The dreams which had eluded me once, were dawning as reality now. I had my taste of success and as they say nothing succeeds like success. I had developed a knack for solving my own problems. One day , I chanced by a couple who were seated in a corner of the quaint little coffee shop. I couldn’t believe my eyes…. Divya and Sandip…here of all places. I couldn’t help but confront them. Divya was warmer than ever before and Sandip… I knew he was feeling a bit coy..its so typical of him. But I was more than surprised when he asked me to join them. Though I didn’t refuse, they found me going after five minutes. I invited them for lunch on Sunday. It was a fine Sunday morning and my guests were sharp on time. Divya offered me help in the kitchen and I chose not to refuse. My books kept Sandip busy. She could read my mind and went on with h

ILLUSIONS OF REALITY...

The more you point out my mistakes, The more you are drawn towards me. The more you try to hurt me, The more you bleed in your heart. The more you run away from me, The more my memories haunt you. The more you want to forget me, The more you are reminded of my presence. The more you want to chase me away, The closer I come to you. The more you hate me, The more you end up loving me. The more you call me an “illusion” The more I dawn as the reality of your life….
